sigh
Just the tip of the iceberg, folks-
I’m easily annoyed with stupid people, I don’t mind spending $5 on a well-made coffee-type beverage if it’s going to be good (I’m talkin’ chai lattes here, people), and I love my job. Really love it.
I don’t use my degree in rhetoric at work (shocking), so I get my fix by watching political debates and reading blogs even more pointless than my own (hard to come by, I know). I’m a lurker though, so I understand people who don’t comment. Though it’s encouraged as long as you can be civil and have something to say.
I enjoy knocking on strangers’ doors, and think there is nothing in this world more exhilerating or fun than registering voters. (Is that weird?)
I’m also a total CSPAN addict, and should probably seek professional help. Really. It’s getting to the point where I might have a real problem. Especially on the weekends- BookTV, le sigh. And yes, I even “watch” the Supreme Court oral arguments, which are audio only. <Shakes fist at stupid SCOTUS rules.> And if it’s not CSPAN, it’s probably Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann. I guess everyone has their vices.
I love living in Alexandria, and don’t think I want to live anywhere else. Except for maybe Pittsburgh. There’s just something to be said for rainy cities. They have so much character, don’t you think?
I’m the girl who will stop you on the street to tell you how great you look in your outfit, or ask where you got those amazing shoes. I strike up conversations with people on the street regularly and cry while watching TV commercials.
I love my cats. And other people’s cats. And cats in general. If you don’t like cats you’re not welcome in my home. And probably not on this blog either. Just kidding. Maybe…
I’m a wife, friend, sister, cool Auntie, perpetual hopemonger, occasional gym-goer, lover of almost all books (Yeah, I’m lookin’ at you Ayn Rand!), and serious shopper.
I’m the kind of girl who wears black when nobody’s dead! And I’m the luckiest girl on the face of the Earth. This is not hyperbole.

Pittsburgh has intellectual capital, like Carnegie Mellon, a great italian food market, waterfront, grittiness and inclines, as well as lots and lots of steps. It is also home to August Wilson, unfortunately a neighborhood that needs a littel help, celebrated in his plays but not yet taking advantage of his legacy, but it is intersting in its raw form. I don’t think many people dream of Pittsburgh.
@aspiring radass- LOL No, I re-did this page not too long ago, but I thought “sigh” fit me better. Don’t you agree?
